How Winning Bids Work

The winner is usually the highest bidder, but the auction system keeps bids anonymous. Your placed bid is your maximum willingness to pay, but the final winning result shown may be lower depending on competing bids and auction logic. This explanation reflects the uploaded bid guide and examples you shared.
1

Highest bidder wins

Bids are won by the highest bidder, but bids remain anonymous and highest bid values are not reviewed openly during the auction.

2

Your final winning amount may be lower

You may place the highest bid and win, but you may not need to pay the full highest value you originally placed.

3

Reserve selling price matters

Your bid is only considered successful when it reaches the determined selling price "Reserve Met' or reserve selling price "Reserve Not Met" bid not won even if you are the highest bidder.

4

Automatic negotiation may happen

If your bid is highest but has not reached the reserve selling price, it may be automatically negotiated using your highest price after the auction.

What To Do After Auction Ends

1

Open your Bid List

Check your “Bid” list. On mobile it is on the left bar. On desktop it is on the top bar.

2

Wait for final result

Wait until the auction is fully over and then the bid results will appear.

3

Look for green “Won”

If you have won a bid, it will normally be highlighted in green and written as “Won”

4

Use “Ended” or “All”

If your bids are not showing, the bidding may be closed but the auction may not have ended yet. Select Ended or All

Examples

Example 1 — Prebidder B wins, result shows ¥78,000

Winning Result: ¥78,000
Bids placed by Prebidder
Prebidder A
Placed bid: ¥78,000
Bid placed
Prebidder B
Placed bid: ¥80,000
Won
Bids placed by Live Bidder
Live Bidder
Placed bid: ¥76,000
Below winning level
Although Prebidder B entered a maximum bid of ¥80,000, the final result only needed to show ¥78,000 to win against the next highest competing bid.

Example 2 — Prebidder B wins, result shows ¥79,000

Winning Result: ¥79,000
Bids placed by Prebidder
Prebidder A
Placed bid: ¥78,000
Bid placed
Prebidder B
Placed bid: ¥80,000
Won
Bids placed by Live Bidder
Live Bidder
Placed bid: ¥78,000
Competing bid
Because another competing bid was closer to the winning level, the final displayed result becomes ¥79,000 even though the winner’s maximum bid was ¥80,000.

Example 3 — Prebidder A wins due to earlier timing

Winning Result: ¥80,000
Bids placed by Prebidder
Prebidder A
Placed bid: ¥80,000 at 08:00am
Won
Prebidder B
Placed bid: ¥80,000 at 09:00am
Overbidded Same bid, later time
Bids placed by Live Bidder
Live Bidder
Placed bid: ¥78,000
Lower bid
When two bidders place the same amount, the earlier qualifying bid can take priority. In this example, Prebidder A wins because the ¥80,000 bid was placed earlier.

Example 4 — Prebidder D wins, result shows ¥77,000

Winning Result: ¥77,000
Bids placed by Prebidder
Prebidder A
Placed bid: ¥70,000
Bid placed
Prebidder B
Placed bid: ¥77,000
Bid placed
Prebidder C
Placed bid: ¥79,000 at 09:00am
Overbidded
Prebidder D
Placed bid: ¥79,000 at 08:00am
Won
Live Bidder
No Live Bidder affecting result
Current display can remain at ¥77,000
No higher live pressure
In this case, two prebidders entered ¥79,000, but Prebidder D entered earlier and wins. The result can still display ¥77,000 depending if there is no live bidder, no other higher prebidders, and the current price is showing ¥77,000.

Example 5 — Live Bidder wins, result shows ¥79,000

Winning Result: ¥79,000
Bids placed by Prebidder
Prebidder A
Placed bid: ¥77,000
Bid placed
Prebidder B
Placed bid: ¥78,000
Bid placed
Bids placed by Live Bidder
Live Bidder
Placed bid: ¥79,000
Won
The live bidder becomes the winning bidder and the final result shows ¥79,000. This follows the example logic you included for live bidding outcomes.

Example 6 — Live Bidder wins, result shows ¥80,000

Winning Result: ¥80,000
Bids placed by Prebidder
Prebidder A
Placed bid: ¥78,000
Bid placed
Prebidder B
Placed bid: ¥80,000
Bid placed
Bids placed by Live Bidder
Live Bidder
Placed bid: ¥80,000
Won
In this scenario, the live bidder wins and the final result shows ¥80,000. This matches the uploaded example showing a live bidder taking the lot at the full displayed level.
